PARTY ANIMALS SHOOT WITH DIYS

Photography: Kelly Harmer

We’re going to the zoo zoo zoo, how about you you you?!

Creating regular content for Talking Tables is an absolute dream come true because now I get to style even more parties, and fun ones at that. Not sure the hubster is as excited though because he has the job of creating storage space in our garage. If you follow my Insta Stories you’ll have seen the endless boxes of party goodies hidden behind our sofa and the guest room looking like a prop factory; I mean, it can’t stay like that forever can it?!

I love creating DIY projects for each one, so for this Party Animals range we made the cutest little party hats for the plastic toys and used them to decorate jars of animal biscuits for favours. Read more here.

The children adored bringing their own animal toys and took great pleasure in feeding them. Notice the matching party hats too, isn’t this simply adorable?!

For the backdrop we attached fabric to the tops of our kitchen cabinets then hung a beige coloured net over the top, which matched the theme but was also incredibly useful for threading the stems of greenery through. We used pegs from behind to reinforce it and to keep the bunting in place.

Our hessian sacks came in handy yet again (see our Boho Fiesta) to add some jungle charm to the table, as did our zebra print box from Homesense (it usually lives in our guest room) which looked perfect as a vase for the pink flowers.

Needless to say the children had a wonderful time at the zoo and enjoyed being party animals for the afternoon!

Until next time,
