Following my DIY Valentine’s Card post using a craft punch, blank card and some patterned paper, I thought it would be super cute to create one for mummy or daddy too!
Valentine’s Day is all about showing the one you love how much they mean to you, which could be from your little one to their mummy or daddy too. What better way to melt their heart than a DIY card from their little cherub/s?
The age of the children will depend on how much help they need.
All you need is:
Alternative to patterned paper – a drawing or painting which you don’t mind cutting heart from. Even more personal!
Pen
Start by thinking about what your design might look like and how it will reflect the person receiving it, so you have a rough idea on how many hearts you need to cut and where they’ll be placed. Then cut away! Depending on the thickness of the paper, your little one may need a hand doing this.
Use glue to fix the hearts in place. I use silicone glue which is specifically designed for paper crafts.
Once your hearts are fixed then you can get personalising, perhaps with a hand written message or you could use a stamp.
Here is the collection of cards made using one heart craft punch; the possibilities are endless!
I hope this has inspired you to get creative and personalised this Valentine’s Day. If you want to spoil your loved one with home-cooked food check out my Sweet Potato & Parsnip Fries with Paprika & Rosemary. Or one for your little ones to get involved in, my Easy Banana & Almond Cake
