THE GREATEST SHOWMAN MOVIE NIGHT

Who else has been completely captivated by The Greatest Showman film? The feel good catchy tunes, the incredible cinematography, the empowering storyline…I love it, my hubby loves it, my children love it, and so do my friends. So what better than a girls’ movie night at home to watch it all over again?!

We set up a cinema room by hanging a 100"screen from the Ikea picture shelf we have running along the wall above our doorway. I’m so pleased we came up with this solution as we’ve not had to fix it permanently to the wall or ceiling. We got a remote controlled screen which makes things a whole lot easier. You can find similar here.

Comfy bean bags and a blanket for everyone helped to create a cosy atmosphere. We bought indoor-outdoor beanbags so we could use them in the garden too and the colour looks great in both spaces. They’re easily wipeable for those unavoidable spillages. You can find them here.

We simply put our projector on a small table rather than fix it permanently so we can safely store it away when the family room is back in full swing.

When we were ready we closed the shutters to fully darken the room and let the show begin!

Don’t you just love these felt boards? They’re so great for adding a personal touch to any gathering or party. Ours usually belongs in the kitchen and we’re always changing up the messages! You can get them in different colours too, check them out here.

A quote from PT Barnum himself added another personal touch, which I created really easily using Picmonkey.

Every Greatest Showman party needs bearded lady face mats, right?! You can find them here.

This mini pick ‘n’ mix stand added another touch of the cinema and was gratefully received by our guests. THE SWEETS COME WITH THIS STAND TOO! Nom nom! You can find it here.

These popcorn holders are great. They’re plastic and stackable too so perfect for family film nights as well (check them out here). Adding flowers to one of them created a feminine touch.

As it was a girls’ night it would’ve been rude not to have prosecco and chambord to enjoy the film, right?!

A basket of blankets offered some extra comfort and a Diptyque candle filled the room with a gorgeous scent, which in my book is always a good idea no matter what the occasion.

I covered my treasured bar cart with grey pinstripe fabric to take attention away from the rose gold effect. You can read more about the bar cart and where I got it from here.

Battery operated fairy lights added another detail to the cart. I just love fairy lights, don’t you? They create such a wonderful ambience.

Fairy lights draped behind white net (which I fixed to the Ikea picture shelf with photography backdrop clips) added a party feel and ensured this area was the focal point in the room.

The white net is actually a mosquito net with the ring removed and has come in handy on so many occasions!

We all had such a great night. By the end we were up on our feet singing and dancing along to the soundtrack wearing our bearded lady face mats! This film really is the perfect choice for a feel good movie night.

I hope this has inspired you to host your own. If you’re in love with The Greatest Showman as much as I am then check out my Pinterest board dedicated to the film.
