Our Luxury Outdoor Kitchen for Easy Al Fresco Dining

We may not be able to touch the inside of our new forever home while we wait for planning permission to renovate it, but that hasn’t stopped us creating our luxury outdoor kitchen for easy al fresco dining!

Not only have we enjoyed eating family meals and entertaining outdoors during the warm weather but we’ve even cooked in the rain thanks to our AMAZING Saxony XL Grill Gazebo kindly gifted by Backyard Discovery. It was delivered on a Tuesday and by the weekend we were already making memories as it was so easy to build.

It’s quickly become our favourite place to be and I can’t tell you how much more time we’re spending outdoors. This beautiful structure has transformed our pretty dull patio area into a fully fledged cooking and entertaining zone. Adding festoon lighting around the edges has added to the atmosphere at night too!

We had a weekend of fun over the Easter break where the kids made pizzas, we had pulled pork tacos, Hunter’s Chicken and Grapefruit Mimosas – all prepared and eaten al fresco. It’s a beautiful spot to create a sense of occasion and make memories.

The details we love on our Grill Gazebo:

  • It’s incredibly sturdy and well made. It’s made with cedar wood (and a steel roof) and is certified to withstand up to 1,712 kilograms of weight and up to 160 kmh winds
  • The size is big enough to fit two Ooni pizza ovens and a large Traeger wood fired grill as well as a portable drinks cart and standing room.
  • There are two built-in powder coated steel worktops either side which have given us invaluable preparation and entertaining space, particularly when the kids want to top their pizza dough or when we want to lay out salads and plates.
  • The customisable accessory hooks can be hung wherever you want them and keep them out of our way when not in use. We’ve added chopping boards, pizza peels, baskets of cutlery and flowers and even extra dining chairs to ours.

We currently have a temporary fix for the pizza ovens using an old table and wooden pallets but our eventual plan is to build something more permanent which we can tile, plus we’d like to add a wooden slatted back to the gazebo where we can add shelves, hooks and maybe even a TV in a DIY weatherproof box so we can enjoy sporting games and movie nights al fresco.

I’m also tempted to paint it all white and add raffia pendant lights for that Mediterranean boho vibe so watch this space for progress!

I hope our luxury outdoor kitchen for easy al fresco dining has given you some inspiration for your own outdoor area; do share and tag @ohsokel on Instagram or reply in the comments below if you do.

Until next time,
