It’s almost that time of year again…do you know where your bats are?
This is our first Halloween in the new house so I simply couldn’t wait any longer to bring creepy chic vibes to our front door! It’s sometimes difficult to get that balance between beautiful and spooky, so I’m going to share my Halloween Door Decor for 2023 along with some helpful hints on how to attain the vibe of the season without it being tacky.
Tips on Creating Creepy Chic Halloween Decor
I chose black and white elements as the core basis for my scheme, which I introduced through fresh white cyclamen in tall graphite pots, flocked bat decals from Halloween pieces in my own homeware collection, black metal LED lanterns and the most adorable felt crow who sits rather eerily by the front door.
Because our house is largely black and white these elements play so beautifully against the backdrop already there. I’m particularly in love with the playful bats which sweep from one side of the door to the other. They’re so striking against the white wall.
Mixing in some natural textures through the witches broom, wreath and little neutral pumpkins brings a stylish organic feel to the space, which is the key principle when considering how I’ve brought this composition into the realms of calm and beautiful. The door mat is a subtle yet essential natural element too.
This year I’ve opted for subtle hints of a deep burgundy accent rather than the classic orange so frequently associated with Halloween, which you can find in the satin ribbon and foliage on the wreath. The exquisite pre-lit wreath, along with the crow, lanterns and broom are from Lights4Fun who have a gorgeous selection of Halloween Decorations.
You probably know by now that I’m a HUGE lover of rustic and metallic elements, so I couldn’t help but adorn the wreath with one of the large antique cowbells from my own collection.
