INTERIOR DESIGN TRENDS TO LOOK OUT FOR IN 2022

Oh So Kel was born out of a love for home decor, sharing inspiration for beautiful living through my award-winning blog. Now that I’ve launched my own homeware collection, it’s no surprise that I’m always keeping an eye on top trends.

Since trends in the homeware world tend to have more longevity than fashion trends I predict that some favourites from 2021 will remain a constant, including calming neutral tones to create a balanced feeling at home. Much needed still after the past few years don’t you agree?!

Here are my trend predictions for 2022, old and new:

Desert vibes

You all know my love for boho touches so I’m rather happy that this trend is here to stay! Tobacco brown is already seeing an increase in popularity, as are terracotta and ‘worn’ look vases. The dough bowls and rustic cowbells from my OSK Living collection are perfect for this look too.

Shop the look:

Boho Pottery Candle / Homebody Mug / Linen Cushion Cover / Boho Terracotta Vase / Bud Vase / White Dough Bowl / Set of Rustic Cowbells

Quilt-look fabrics

Patterns will emerge in the form of fabrics that have a patchwork or tufted vibe to them, such as blankets and cushions. Our ever-popular boho blanket from 2021 is available for pre-order now if you’d like to guarantee one before they arrive!

Shop the look:

Grey Lumbar Cushion Cover / Boho Lumbar Cushion Cover / Sam Cushion Cover / Hayley Hand Tufted Cushion Cover / Boho Reversible Blanket / Angie Tassel Cushion Cover

Pastels

Hints of pastels amongst calm neutral decor will come into play which is easily achieved through cushion covers and candles for example.

Shop the look:

Exclusive Collection Candle / Nordic Art Prints / Frayed Edge Linen Napkins

Calming Neutrals

Even though touches of colour such as the desert tones and pastels are predicted, I think calming neutrals are here to stay and will remain the predominant trend, acting as backdrop to any new additions. Greys will always be popular but I’ve definitely noticed a shift towards beige, taupe and creamy whites. I’m personally a HUGE fan as you’ve probably noticed from my homeware collections over the past year! They bring such a sense of serene to a space which I think we’ve all craved for during covid times – I’ve definitely moved away from bold colours in my own home as I’ve felt the need to create more of a sanctuary than a ‘fun’ space.

Shop the Look:

Grey Woven Baskets / Boho Pampas Bunches in Hanging Basket / Wooden Chain Links / Mixed Taper Candles / Monochrome Blanket / White Frill Cushion Cover / Charcoal Linen Cushion Cover / White Linen Cushion Cover / Ceramic Vase / Abstract Art Prints on Canvas / Boho Styling Beads in Natural Dough Bowl / Exclusive Collection Candle

I hope my Interior Design Trends to Look Out For in 2022 have given you some inspiration for your own home and I hope you love my own collection of unique chic homeware too!

Until next time,

Kel x
