Wrapping presents is the best thing ever when it becomes a cute Christmas party with your gal pals! From the DIY gifts to the adorable toppers (and some cheeky mint green cocktails thrown in), I’m sharing how to host your own holiday gift wrapping party and I guarantee it will soon become the hottest date in your (and their) calendar every festive season!

It’s a fabulous opportunity to get your creative on whilst having a girlie gossip, what’s not to love?!

Here’s how to host a gal’s Christmas gift wrapping party…

Inviting your guests

It’s important to consider the date – give enough notice for your gals your do their Christmas shopping and set the date early enough in the season to avoid clashes with all the other festive goings on.

If you fancy being really creative (more so than me who just invited via a What’s App group!), a tag attached to a bauble is a fun way to invite your faves to this fun event and it’ll get them excited wayyyy before the party starts.

Get your gift wrapping supplies

We decided to take DIY and creativity to the max and keep things simple by ordering from one place. Self Packaging (AD) is the Santa’s workshop of the gift wrapping world, with a treasure trove full of self-build boxes for every gift you could ever dream of! Macaron boxes with clear lids, beer boxes, wine boxes and little gift boxes to name a few plus the cutest bags, tissue paper, gift tags, stickers, twine and accessories including bells and feathers to boot can all be found. They even supplied the lovely deer head which came flat packed; my two girls loved helping me to build and decorate it!

I added a handful of cellotapes, scissors and pens, along some large bags so guests could easily carry them home.

Be organised

We all have our different DIY talents, so if there’s a particularly good baker in the group perhaps they could bring a batch of home based cookies to divvy up between you, another could bring mini jars of chutney and another handmade soaps. That way all friends and family get to enjoy a variety of gifts handmade with love. Coordinate who’s bringing what in advance and allow plenty of time for everyone to make what they’ve agreed to make.

Create a little area for each guest to keep their gifts as the last thing you want is for presents to get mixed up!

Eat, drink and be merry!

No gal pal get together is complete without festive cocktails right?! I served up Mint Chocolate Christmas Bauble Cocktails with edible drink stirrers and they were an absolute hit!

Consider mocktails for the drivers in the group and serve them up with some snacks to keep everyone going. I’d recommend non-greasy finger food so you don’t have to worry about cutlery or greasy marks on your beautifully wrapped gifts!

Stick on some festive tunes

No festive party of any kind is complete without a bit of ‘Rocking Around the Christmas Tree’ or ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ so get Alexa to do her thing or choose a Christmas playlist from Spotify to save you the job.

Happy Holidays and happy wrapping!

Until next time,
