You’ll want to start by creating various “nesting” areas around the home. These are perfect if you’re the sort of person who loves to read books or just kick back and enjoy the atmosphere.
The best way to create a nest area is to start by adding the right seating and then layering lighting. You want deep-set chairs and furniture that make you feel subsumed. Then, you can add various blankets on top so you can be cozy, even in the longer winter months.
Create Sensory Comfort
Sensory comfort is a huge consideration when you’re a homebody.
You may wish to consider a high pile carpet that feels incredibly soft underfoot. The greater the density, the better it will feel, and the more durable it will be.
Adding strategically placed coffee machines, candles and blankets can help to create comfortable areas in the home too.
Use Low-Maintenance Aesthetics
Whilst you may be a homebody and want to stay at home, if you’re anything like me you’ll still want your home to be low maintenance so you have the time to relax and enjoy it!
For example, you’ll want plants that you can essentially just forget about. like the self-sustaining snake or ZZ plant.
Choosing a classic, neutral colour palette for your home is also smart as it will keep your space calming and timeless, meaning you’ll never get tired of it. I choose to switch up my accessories instead as that’s a lot quicker than having to re-paint a room!
Get Convenient Entertainment
Finally, creating convenient entertainment at home will reduce your frustration while trying to relax, such as adding a charging station near to where you’ll be sitting, or purchasing a smart TV for easy access to all your favourite shows..
