DIY WOOL TASSEL DECORATIONS

Photography: Kelly Harmer

I think we all know by now that I love a bit of boho, love DIY projects (particularly when the family can get involved), and love them even more when they’re super quick and easy, so these adorable tassels have to be one of my all time favourite crafts and I’m really excited to share this ‘how to’ with you! All you need is wool, scissors and some beads so it’s really kind on the purse strings too!

First wind the wool around your hand until you’ve got a good amount, then cut. Next take another piece of wool and use it to tie your looped wool together, this will become the hanger at the top and the piece that you’ll thread your beads onto so be mindful of this when thinking of the length.

Cut the looped wool at the bottom so it now becomes a tassel.

Now for the creative part!

Wind some wool near the top of your tassel and tie in a knot. I quite like it in a different colour and metallic thread would work really well here.

Next thread some beads on the thread at the top of the tassel, then tie the two pieces of wool together at the top to keep the beads in place.

Your tassel is now complete and ready to hang. Simples!

My daughter wanted to make a ‘ghosty’ with one of hers. Cuuuuute!

We used the rest for gift wrapping and attached some to a sequin woven basket to add to the boho vibe.

Share your DIY on Instagram and tag @ohsokel if you make your own as we’d love to see the results.

Happy Holidays!

Until next time,

OSK xx
