I’ve been a bit obsessed with the Kailo Chic blog for a while now and fell in love with Kara’s DIY YAY typography vase a long time ago. It’s been safely saved on a Pinterest board and when I saw a ceramic version being sold in Next it reminded me to make one with Isla for her new Peach and Mint Boho Bedroom!
I’ve included it in my 4 Easy Summer Holiday DIYs Using Spray Paints post and love how creative you can get with this project. The possibilities are endless depending on your style and if the kids are involved they can go crazy with the glitter and sequins!
We decided to go gold and peach to match her bedroom and picked up a sprig of pretty peach faux blooms from The Range which we cut to fit. Bear in mind that as the vases are mache they’ll go soggy with water in the bottom so faux flowers are best.
You will need
Paint and brushes
Permanent marker pen
Sand or gravel
Other decorative items as desired[shopr_shopthepost collection=”gold-decor-accessories” title=”Shop Gold Decor”]
Start by spray painting your letters and when dry, decorate with paint or your chosen embellishments. We used white and peach paint tester pots to dab over the top section of the letters then added dots and dashes using a Sharpie permanent marker pen in navy when the paint had dried.
Next we used the scalpel to very carefully cut out the top of each letter then poured small gravel into each to give them some weight.
We only needed one sprig of peach flowers which we cut into individual stems and placed randomly into the vases.

Doesn’t it look cute on the shelf above Isla’s desk?!
I’d love to see a classy monogram version at a wedding wouldn’t you?!
Until next time.
