COSY AUTUMNAL TABLESCAPE WITH FALLING LEAVES

We were hosting a Sunday roast last weekend and what started as a standard table set up suddenly turned into an abundant Autumnal tablescape. We got our glass pumpkin out from last year then got completely carried away!

Everything used was already in the house such as the faux flowers and leaves, fresh apples, zebra print box, acrylic placemats, empty Jo Malone box underneath it and candles from our living room.

Our daughter Isla had this genius idea about suspending apples from our ceiling light using fishing wire but they were too heavy so we did the same with faux leaves which worked out perfectly because leaves are currently falling for Fall. We added a bit of interest by drawing patterns on the leaves using a gold metallic pen and wrote place names on the leaves to match. We did suspend apples from the backs of the chairs using fishing wire and the same ribbon as on the napkins so Isla’s idea did get used!

This image really makes me chuckle so I simply had to share it…it’s my dad holding up a blanket so I could take photographs of the table without the sun shining in through the bi-folds!

Initially we were going to use bright orange hydrangea on the table but the softer blush blooms seemed to work better. We have however used them in our beautiful white pierced ginger jar at the end of our kitchen peninsula, along with my favourite candle on our DIY gold edge agate slice.

If you need convincing on the faux flowers front, I’ve put my case forward for why I love them! (read more here)

There are some scrumptious ideas on my Pinterest board for Autumn and for Thanksgiving

Are you ready to fall into Fall? I sure am and can’t wait to get all cosied up with my blankets and candles at home.
